Need help with something else technical? I can help! If you want to learn, I love to teach! If you just want it taken care of, I can do it right. Examples include:
- Windows, MacOS, Android, iOS, and other computing device issues
- Appliance and equipment advice, setup, installation, troubleshooting, and repair
- Evaporative ("swamp") cooler / furnace changeovers and winterization
- Cutting the cord (especially receiving over-the-air local broadcasts) and signal reception issues
- Setting up your own domain, Google Voice number, website, and/or email
- Improving email deliverability for your domain, including SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configuration and troubleshooting
- Automotive advice, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of weird stuff nobody else can figure out
- Technical editing (editing of writing involving science, engineering, or technology topics, as well as more general editing)
I make a great first point of contact for businesses and individuals with a technical problem to diagnose, and will offer guidance on how to proceed when I can't help you solve it myself.
How much does it cost? Once your problem is solved and has stayed solved for a while, I ask you to decide what my help was worth. I don't charge a fixed fee or an hourly rate. If you have a sincere need but are tight on resources, I'm still happy to help.
I am patient and won't replace every part that might be the cause of trouble; I will come back after trying cheap solutions first.
I can help for much less, or when nobody else can! Some more specific examples of things I've helped people with:
- Garage door opener troubles (programming, misaligned sensors, etc. Note: I don't do springs!)
- Repair of remote controls fior which replacements were no longer available
- Figuring out why a small business' email was often being sent to spam/junk (and fixing it)
- Vacuum cleaner, sewing machine, and similar repairs
- Tasks auto dealerships overcharge for, like wiper blade, headlight, and filter replacements
